PhD in Psychology (UFRGS), with a research internship at the University of Virginia (USA) studying the cognitive bias in anxiety disorders. Master in Clinical Psychology (PUCRS) and with Intensive Training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (The Linehan Institute, Behavioral Tech), a former Professor of Psychology for ten years (FACCAT / ULBRA / IBGEN). He is currently Professor of Graduate Studies at the Specialization Level in Cognitive Therapy and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) in several states in Brazil. Taught course as Guest Professor at Palo Alto University (USA) on DBT for Borderline Personality Disorder and also Cultural Adaptations of DBT in Brazil. He participates in the field studies for the elaboration of the International Disease Code - ICD 11 (WHO). Currently he is the President of the Brazilian Federation of Cognitive Therapies - FBTC (Management 2019-2021). Former member of the Basic Applied Research Working Group from a Cognitive-Behavioral Perspective of the National Association for Research and Graduate Studies in Psychology (ANPEPP). Former coordinator of the implementation process and of the Certification Committee of Cognitive Therapists in Brazil by the FBTC (2013/2015 and 2015/2017). Coordinator of the Dialectical Behavior Therapy Training Course of Elo Psicologia e Desenvolvimento. Member of the Association for Contextual Behavioral Science (ACBS), Founder of the Rio Grande do Sul Association of Cognitive Therapies (ATC-RS) and Founder of the Rio Grande do Sul Institute of Cognitive Therapy (ITC-RS) in Porto Alegre - RS, where he works as a psychotherapist, provides clinical supervision and diagnostic consultancy. Organizer of the book "Psychotherapeutic strategies and the third wave in cognitive therapy" (Sinopsys, 2014) and "The practice of psychotherapeutic interventions: How to treat patients in real life" (Sinopsys, 2019). He is also the author of more than 60 publications between book chapters and scientific articles.
